Normally,
I don't go nuts about Grocery Stores. Certainly, I have never before been moved to
honor one in a photograph. But this one's different. I would be doing it a grave injustice
to say that it's a gourmet deli...or a chi-chi coffee shop...or the smartest source for
your picnic provisions...or an excellent place to buy hard-to-find wines at pretty good
prices. The original Oakville Grocery is all this, plus a piece of Napa Valley
history and more. I only wish they'd
open a branch on the East Coast. (Complete with the wines, of course.)
